The City of Pierre Recreation Department is bringing Movies in the Park back to the Steamboat Park Amphitheater this month.
Winnie the Pooh will be shown on July 13 at 9:30 p.m.; The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie will be shown on July 20 at 9:15 p.m.; and Puss in Boots will air at 9 p.m. on July 27.
According to Pierre Recreation Superintendent Torry Zeller, show times are approximate.
“We try to start the movies at dusk,” said Zeller. “We project them onto a giant screen on the amphitheater stage. The picture is much easier to see when the sun goes down.”
Zeller encourages people to bring camping chairs, snacks, and family and friends to enjoy the movies in the park.
All three movies are weather dependent, family friendly, free, and open to the public.
