A new septage receiving station has been installed at the city’s baling facility.
It will receive materials from septic system haulers and allow the city to better track and manage the waste it receives from those haulers. Previously the waste was deposited at the city’s wastewater treatment plant. That drop location provided no accurate way to track how much waste was coming in nor did it provide a mechanism for screening and diluting the material before it entered the treatment plant.
The new receiving station will make sure haulers are paying for the disposal of all the materials they deliver and protect the plant from undiluted and unscreened waste. The new receiving station will be operational June 1.
