The Pierre City Commission has awarded the Hillsview Golf Course Clubhouse and Pro-Shop Manager contract to Chad Wise. Wise replaces Carin Hayn who retired after the 2022 golf season; Hayn had held the contract since 2013.
Wise is relocating to Pierre from Kimball, NE where he held a similar position with Fourwinds Golf Course for the past 16 years.
“This is an exciting opportunity for me and my family,” said Wise. “I’m looking forward to getting to know Pierre and becoming part of the central South Dakota golfing community.”
As the contract holder, Wise is responsible for managing the Hillsview Clubhouse and Pro-Shop, including food and beverage concessions, retail sales, equipment rentals, club memberships, facilities maintenance, and golf course tourneys and events.
“Chad has 30 years in the industry and has fulfilled a similar role for more than a decade in Nebraska,” said Bryan Tipton, Parks and Recreation Director. “I look forward to working with him to continue our record of success at Hillsview.”
The Hillsview contract is a five-year contract. As a contract employee, Wise will receive a base salary from the City plus profits he makes as the concessionaire of the Clubhouse and Pro-Shop.
In 2022, Hillsview had a 222 day playing season, hosted nearly 40 events and almost 29,650 rounds of golf.
Hillsview is a par 72 course that features bent grass greens, bluegrass fairways and tees. The clubhouse is a full-service facility featuring a pro-shop, snack bar, grill and seating for 80.
