[ARCHIVED] City Extends Lease Agreement with Eagle Creek

PIERRE CITY HALL

City Extends Lease Agreement with Eagle Creek

Tonight, the Pierre City Commission agreed to extend Eagle Creek’s lease of second-floor space at City Hall.  Eagle Creek, a software services company, will lease 5,000 square feet of the upper level of Pierre City Hall for another three years.

City Administrator Kristi Honeywell says that the Eagle Creek will continue to pay its current rate but no longer requires the more than 13,700 square feet of the second floor.

“Eagle Creek has told us they are very happy with the space and would like to continue leasing 5,000 square feet of it,” said Honeywell. “Additionally, Eagle Creek has agreed to pay half the build out costs to make the remainder of the second floor suitable for another tenant.”

Mayor Steve Harding says that he’s very pleased that Eagle Creek wants to continue operating out of the City Hall building.

“Eagle Creek has been a great tenant and great addition to Pierre,” said Harding. “I’m glad we can continue to count Eagle Creek as a member of Pierre’s business community.”

The City doesn’t have immediate plans for the newly available upper level space.

“We’re looking at all the possible opportunities provided by this new lease agreement,” said Honeywell. “This opens up space for new tenants, partner agencies or potentially additional City government uses.”
