Tonight the Pierre City Commission accepted recommendations from the Pierre Golf Board to adjust fees at Hillsview Golf Course, Pierre’s municipal course.
“We’re pleased that the annual season pass rates aren’t changing,” said Tom Farnsworth, Director of the Parks and Recreation Department. “Most of the fee adjustments relate to golf carts.”
In 2018, annual golf cart rentals for individuals will increase $15; annual golf cart rentals for families will increase $20. The cost of using a private cart on the course will increase $10 a year, and the cost will increase $25 a year for private carts with multiple users. Storage of private carts will increase $20 year.
In 2018, the City will upgrade its fleet of golf carts by leasing 50 new 2018 Yamaha golf carts. The increased fees are designed to offset the cost of the new carts.
“We provide an excellent experience at Hillsview and plan to continue doing so,” said Mayor Steve Harding. “Those amenities that enhance the golfing experience do come at a cost. I’d really like to thank the board for finding ways to support enhancements while keeping fees reasonable.”
In the 2018, the City will also install a new irrigation pump station. To help offset those costs, green fees will be raised $1 for 9-holes of play and $2 for 18-holes of play.
Season passes for the 2018 season will go on sale Dec. 20, and payment plans are available. For more information, visit cityofpierre.org.
