PIERRE, S.D. – The City of Pierre will close two different streets next week for construction.
West Capitol
Weather permitting, a portion of West Capitol Avenue will close Wednesday morning for construction.
The 200 block of West Capitol between Zesto and South Central Avenue will close at 8:15 on July 6, and will remain closed through Friday, July 8 while crews remove asphalt surfacing. This segment of West Capitol Avenue is scheduled for resurfacing later this month.
Alley and pedestrian access will remain open throughout the construction.
Fourth Street
Crews will begin repairing a sinkhole located on Fourth Street near the North Euclid intersection on Tuesday morning.
Fourth Street, between Euclid Ave. and Governors Drive, will close at 8:15 on July 5 and remain closed until the project is complete. The repair work is expected to be finished by the end of the month.
