[ARCHIVED] Downtown Parking Restrictions

Downtown Parking Restrictions

Pierre, S.D. –The City of Pierre is working hard to keep Pierre’s downtown looking its best, and it needs your help to accomplish that.

Twice a week, the City sends street sweepers through downtown Pierre to remove debris and litter that collects on the roadways and along the curbs. To allow the street sweepers to provide curb-to-curb cleaning, parking restrictions are in place.

• On Wednesdays from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m., there is no parking on Dakota Avenue between Fort and Coteau.
• On Fridays from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m., there is no parking on Pierre Street from Capitol Avenue to the Legion Cabin.

These parking restrictions aren’t new to the downtown area. However, they were lifted for the duration of the Pierre Street construction project this summer. Now that the construction is complete, the restrictions are back in place and signed accordingly.
