Pierre, S.D. – It’s all about the kids!
On Tuesday, Nov. 10, Rawlins Library will partner with the Fort Pierre Pizza Ranch to raise money that supports children’s programming at the Municipal Library. The event runs from 5:00 p.m. – 8 p.m. The Library will receive 20% of all the sales during that time, as well as tips.
The annual fundraiser gives the library the ability to purchase books, reading rewards and other materials for the children’s Summer Reading Program. This year, the funds raised will also be utilized to outfit the children’s area with updated furniture.
Rawlins Municipal Library serves both the Pierre and Fort Pierre communities. It has more than 90-thousand books, ebooks and other materials in its collection. Daily, the library has more than 420 visitors and currently has about 9,000 library card holders.
Aside from book and material lending, the Library also regularly hosts childen’s, teen and adult programming, offers free internet usage, use of numerous databases on everything from genealogy to car repair, and provides more than 350 online adult education classes.
