Pierre, S.D. – Pierre Rawlins Municipal Library has plenty to help keep kids busy this fall. Fall children’s programming begins next week.

Read and Tell: October 5 –October 31
Read and Tell is for kids in Kindergarten through eighth grade. The child just needs to read a book and then come to the library and tell a staff member about the book. After meeting with a staff member, the child will receive a free book and automatically be entered to win an additional prize.

Preschool Storytime: 10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, entire Month of October.
Preschool Storytime is designed for non-school age children and includes stories, music, finger plays and other activities. No registration is required.

“Not Norman: A Goldfish Story”: October 22, 6:30 p.m.
Participants of this program will listen to the story “Not Norman: A Goldfish Story” and complete a fish decorating craft activity. The story, by Kelly Bennett, tells of a little boy who wants to trade in his goldfish for a pet that he can cuddle and play with. But things don’t go as planned. This program is part of Read for the Record ®, a global campaign to generate public support for high-quality early learning.
