Commissioner Robin Lerseth

Public Safety Commissioner

Robin Lerseth was elected to the Pierre City Commission in 2025 and is currently serving her first term. A fourth-generation resident of the Pierre area, Robin grew up on the Hinesh family farm just outside of town and graduated from T.F. Riggs High School in 2005.

She began her college education at South Dakota State University through Pierre’s Capital University Center (now Capital City Campus), later transferring to the University of South Dakota. There, she earned a bachelor’s degree in International Studies and English, with a minor in Spanish, followed by a master’s degree in English in 2011.

Robin married Sven Lerseth of Beresford in 2011 and started her career as a part-time college-level English instructor. Today, the couple stays busy raising their three school-aged sons and participating in the many activities that come with a full family schedule.

In addition to her role on the City Commission, Robin is active in her community. She serves on the PTA, her church’s Christian Education Committee, and shares her passion for dance by teaching with the Ballroom Swishers Dance Club.
