People who prefer to pay their City of Pierre utility bill by phone can now pay it any day of the week, at any time of the day.
Twila Hight, City Finance Director, says that the City has added the convenience to enhance security and accommodate the large number of City utility customers who pay by phone.
“In the past, people who paid by phone had to connect with City staff who would manually process the payment while the customer was on the phone,” said Hight. “That meant our customers had to call during normal operating hours and often had to wait for available staff. Now they don’t.”
The City’s new system also decreases the chance for identity theft because the phone line for the automated system is a secure line.
People who want to pay by phone through the automated system should call 855.715.1316.
People can also pay utility bills online, in person, by mail, or autopay from a bank account.
- Online bill pay accounts can be set up at cityofpierre.org
- In person payments can be made at the front desk of City Hall, 222 East Dakota Ave or in the drop box in the parking lot behind City Hall.
- Payments can be mailed to:

- The autopay form can be found on the back of the utility bill or at City Hall.
Utility payments are due the third Friday of each month.
