PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre City Commission is reminding those involved in political campaigns that Pierre has a political sign ordinance.
Ordinance states that within Pierre city limits, no political signs are allowed to be on display prior to thirty days before an election. For this year’s primary election, that means signs can’t be on display prior to May 6.
Ordinance also dictates when signs must be removed, allowable sign size and allowable sign placement. The full political sign ordinance, Section 12-14-110, is available at cityofpierre.org.
People with question about the rules can contact Sharon Pruess, City Planner, at 605.773.7407.
