[ARCHIVED] SNOW EMERGENCY ROUTES DECLARED

NOTICE

The City of Pierre will declare a SNOW EMERGENCY starting at 12:00 am CST (Midnight) tonight and plowing will commence shortly after. In accordance with City Ordinances, ALL vehicles will be removed from the Snow Route Streets to allow for snow removal from curb to curb. Parking on Snow Route Street will be allowed once the Snow Emergency is lifted, which is anticipated to be Thursday (12/05/13) mid-morning. Notices will be announced on the City Website, radio, and through local news reporting services.

The public is reminded that City Ordinances prohibit the placement of snow into streets or alleys. Once the Snow Routes are plowed the remaining streets will be plowed and any areas that have drifted in with the continuing blowing winds.

Stay clear of plowing equipment and snow hauling operations, your safety and that of city snow removal crews are of paramount importance. Drive safely and travel at reduced speeds.
